UV Calcium Fluoride (CaF2) Windows can work with high transmittance from below 150 nm and extending throughout the visible range, till the middle IR wavelength. It is an ideal material at the wavelength of 150nm to 7000nm.
Calcium Fluoride (CaF2) Windows and lenses are often used in spectroscopy due to CaF2 high transmission from 170nm to 7μm. Its low absorption coefficient and high damage threshold make it a popular choice for excimer lasers.
COE Optis can supply Calcium Fluoride (CaF2) Windows and lenses with high precision, with or without AR coating. The uncoated windows provide high transmission from the ultraviolet (170nm) to the infrared (8 μm). The AR-coated windows feature an antireflection coating on both sides that provides increased transmission within the 1.65 - 3.0 µm specified wavelength range. The Knoop hardness of calcium fluoride is 158.3. Calcium Fluoride (CaF2) Windows manufactured from vacuum UV grade calcium fluoride are commonly found in cryogenically cooled thermal imaging systems. Calcium fluoride has a low absorption coefficient and high damage threshold, making these windows a good choice for use with free-space lasers.
